How long can the video be?

Background videos are automatically cut at 30 seconds in length because very few people watch videos that long. If you need to show a longer video, consider cutting it in multiple segments of less than 30 seconds, and put each segment on a separate page.

What is the best size for my background image?

For the background video, we recommend using a file with the following dimensions:

  • Canvas size: 1260 x 2120px

  • Safe area size: 1104 x 1856px (centered in the canvas, 78px from the left / right edge, 132px from the top / bottom edge)

Alternatively, design your content with a 69:116 aspect ratio.

Why is my video zoomed in?

Background videos are zoomed in about 14%. The reason is to create a "safe area" so that the video remains full screen on a wide variety of phone sizes. For tall phones more of the top and bottom of the video will be shown. For wider devices, users will see more of the left and right of the video. Preview the various phone sizes with the toggle under the page canvas.

How do the video adjustments work?

Use the adjustment slider to move the image within the background. This allows you to be more specific on the parts of the image you want to show.

How do I enable sound on my video?

Simple enable sound on your video by clicking the + next to Video Sound at the bottom of the panel. The unmute button will now appear on the canvas, confirming sound is enabled.

Why is my video always muted?

Websites can not autoplay video with sound. This is a limitation of browsers so that video ads on webpages can't disturb you. Playing sound will always require an action from the viewer, in this case, tapping the "Unmute" button at the top of the story.

Do I have to put in a description?

Video descriptions are not mandatory, but are a great way of boosting your SEO and improve the accessibility of your Story.
